Using a paper cutter, cut the box in two. Cut out the bottom of the box as shown in the photo. This will be the back of the drawer.

The top of the box will be the front of the drawer. Cut a slot in it for letters and cut off the excess parts so that it fits well with the back.

Glue the two parts together with wide tape.

Place the front of the box on the blue cardstock, trace, cut out, fold the cardboard and then glue to the box. Cover the entire box in this manner.

Cut the glitter cardstock into strips. Fold the strips in half. In order for the strips to fold beautifully in half, you need to place a ruler at the fold and draw something sharp along the fold.

Cover all edges of the box with glitter stripes.

Cover the letter slot with white cardboard cut into semicircles in the shape of snowdrifts.

According to the template, cut out all the details of the portrait of Santa Claus. Glue all the parts onto black cardboard and cut everything out together, leaving a small margin. Using a black pen, draw eyes and mustaches. Glue a portrait of Santa Claus to the front of the box.

According to the template, cut out all the details of the bullfinch. Glue all the parts onto black cardboard and cut everything out together, leaving a small margin. Using a black pen, draw an eye, legs and an envelope. Glue the bullfinch onto the lid of the box.

Using something sharp, make a hole in the back of the box, thread a string and tie it. You can use this rope to hang a mailbox.

Hello!
I hope that you and your children are planning to write letters to Santa Claus? Or maybe you already wrote it? Where do your kids put them then? In the freezer? Out the window? Under the pillow?)))
One children's development center now has a real Santa Claus mailbox! Kids can throw their letter in it! And I will share with you my method of making such a box.

For the base of our mailbox we use 1 or 1.5 mm thick binding cardboard.

Cutting out the blanks:
30x22 cm is the back part
25x22 cm is the front part
22x12 cm is the bottom
24x14 cm is a cover
And two sides with sides 30x12x25x13 (that is, they will be beveled forward)

We will also need loops, these are the smallest ones I found. And brads - 4 pieces.

To fasten our box, we cut out strips of thick paper (I use watercolor paper) along the length of our parts, that is:
30 cm - 4 pcs.
25 cm - 4 pcs.
22 cm - 4 pcs.
12 cm - 4 pcs.

We collect our parts into a single whole, you should get a box like this:

Here in the photo you can already see that I attached the lid to the back wall using hinges and brads. I painted all the edges, as well as the hinges, with acrylic paint:

I attached the hinges with only one brad on each side, otherwise it turned out too rough (((

We cover the insides of the box with watercolor paper. I also made a tag with a winking Santa Claus in the middle. There will be a surprise for the children - they open the lid to throw in their letter, and there Santa Claus smiles at them!

Further. Rear wall We also cover the bottom with watercolor paper. The sides can be paper to match the one you chose for the facade of our mailbox.
Now let's decorate.
I chose WP paper, large pompoms, a snowflake from Christmas tree pendants, and a bow made from decorative ribbon with wire edges. Also used grosgrain and holly ribbon from May Arts, "candied" berries.

I decorated the front of the drawer very simply. I cut out a flag from binding cardboard, painted it with acrylic paint, the same flag, but smaller, from the back of the same WP paper, and an even smaller one from red designer cardboard, painted the letters from chipboard, and made the volume using foam tape. This is how it turned out for me:

The finishing touches are snowflakes using Flower Soft and “snowy” frosted patterns along all edges with white acrylic:

It seems like nothing complicated, but the children have a lot of delight))) We already have the first letters in our mailbox!
I hope that this master class will inspire someone to create their own mailbox for Santa Claus, or at least to write a letter to Grandfather together with their child! Soon our blog will publish an article about the meaning of letters to Santa Claus for a child, about magic and faith in miracles! Don't miss it! And share your ideas and results in the comments!

Hello, dear colleagues and friends!
This master class is intended for school-age children. The idea of making a souvenir will be interesting for teachers and parents.

On the eve of the New Year, cheerful preparations for the Christmas and New Year holidays are underway all over the world. With the onset of winter, when fluffy snow falls, icicles sparkle on the roofs of houses, festive lights come on on the Christmas trees, we all begin to look forward to the gifts and surprises that Santa Claus is preparing for us.
Surely you also have a cherished desire. But how can you tell the magical Grandfather what you dream of receiving as a gift? Of course, you can tell your parents, but... What if you just write a letter to Santa Claus? And tell him in every detail about your dream. Isn't that great?

And yet, it is very important not to forget about the rules for writing letters to Santa Claus: Imagine for a moment: he is alone, but how many of us are there? Wow, how many! Of course, he has assistants: Snegurochka, Snowman and others. But still, the letter should be short and meaningful, and we’ll leave essays and dictations for school. Don’t forget about politeness: be sure to use magic words“thank you” and “please”. And the most important rule: write only your deepest desire, don’t be shy! Santa Claus will definitely do it. Don’t repeat after your girlfriend or friend, invent and fantasize, don’t be afraid! Santa Claus first of all fulfills sincere and honest wishes!

Where to send the letter?
Well, the last thing we need to know is the address of Santa Claus. The letter is ready, beautifully decorated and packed in an elegant envelope. All that remains is to write the address and take the treasured message to the post office or drop it into a mailbox close to your house. Here is the Russian address of Father Frost - 162390, Russia, Veliky Ustyug, the home of the real Father Frost. You can also send a message to Grandfather to the address email[email protected] If you really want, you can send a letter to Santa Claus (for example, if you want to show off your knowledge English language), who lives in Lapland - Santa Claus, Arctic Circle, 96930, Rovaniemi, Finland. Write beautiful New Year's letters to Santa Claus and remember that sincere wishes always come true!

Additional material prepared by Olga Boyko (Internet resources).

Or you can make such a wonderful mailbox for collecting letters to Santa Claus.

Required materials, tools and equipment: rectangular box, suitable size, thick corrugated cardboard (from boxes), a piece of white wallpaper, primer (white acrylic paint), three-layer napkins for decoupage with a New Year's theme, glue stick, hot-melt gun, acrylic varnish, decorative snowflakes made of foil and felt, contours and glitters for decoration, decorative braid, white satin ribbon 1 cm wide, brushes, scissors, ruler, simple pencil , stationery knife, awl. The photo shows the main materials.

Manufacturing sequence

1. Lay out the box and coat it with white acrylic primer 2 - 3 times.

2. Pre-arrange the prepared napkins on each side of the box according to your desire and creative imagination.

3. Glue the selected napkins, having previously cut off or torn the design and separated the white layers using the decoupage technique. If anyone is not familiar with this technique, I draw your attention to the fact that glue (PVA diluted with water 1:1) or varnish (we use acrylic varnish directly) is applied with a brush from the center to the edges over the design, which is previously applied to the work. It is better to use a flat synthetic brush. Let it dry.

4. After complete drying, it is necessary to cover another 2 - 3 times.
5. On the front side of the future box at the top, cut a rectangular hole with a stationery knife, not forgetting the safety rules, after drawing it along a ruler (the size is at your discretion). Perhaps adults will do this work.

6. Elaborate the drawings with decorative contours and glitters.

7. Cover the lower elements of the box with white wallpaper, since the box will open at the bottom to remove letters.

8. Make the lower base and upper lid of the future box according to the dimensions of the box. Cut it out of thick corrugated cardboard (from boxes) and cover it with white wallpaper.

9. Glue two 20 cm pieces of white satin ribbon, 1 cm wide, to the bottom cover.

10. Decorate the lids and box with braid and snowflakes.

11. Glue a satin ribbon 1 cm wide and 50–60 cm long on the bottom part of the box, after making holes with an awl and passing the ribbon through them.

12. Glue the box. Glue the bottom and top cover, which we decorate with felt snowflakes and the inscription (print, cut with curly scissors, tint the edges).

13. Also decorate the junction when gluing the box and the contour of the slot for releasing letters with braid.

Make your child happy on New Year's Eve - send a letter to Santa Claus right from home! Make your own Christmas mailbox and decorate it with your kids. Print out the letter template. Let the child write to Santa Claus what he wants to receive as a gift and congratulate him on the upcoming New Year.

It’s not at all difficult to make “New Year’s mail” with your own hands. We have prepared master classes for you in which you will find three different options. In each of them you will definitely need festive elegant decor - prepare it in advance with your child. Watch three video lessons, choose your favorite mailbox and get down to business!

From a big box

One of the most simple options- make a New Year's box from a large cardboard box. Packaging from a doll, a car or some kind of game will do. Additionally, you will need cardboard, beautiful paper, New Year's cards or pictures from books.

Check this one out step by step video a master class that describes in detail how to properly make a box for letters to Santa Claus with your own hands.

As you can see, even a young master can easily cope with this task. If your child is very small, then make the slots yourself. And you will also have to cover the box. But children can decorate it with snowflakes (take stencils) or other pictures on their own.

By the way, instead of the game box, you can easily use a regular cardboard box. Just cover it with wrapping paper on all sides. The best way to do this is to use double-sided tape. Then add decorative paper of a different color and decorations in the form of snowflakes or stars to the front side.

Place a New Year's card on the front wall of your mailbox. Make a slot to drop the letter.

All that remains is to further decorate the craft with any New Year's sparkles, serpentine, tinsel or anything else.

From felt

Make a toy mailbox for Santa Claus so that you can leave it for your child. for a long time. The holidays will pass - interesting entertainment will remain!

With this video you can make a New Year's letter box from felt. Step by step instructions It’s simple, but a child can’t handle it, so you need to master this master class.

The author uses doublerin in his work. It can be found in the creative departments. What is dublerin? To put it simply – adhesive lining material. It is necessary for sealing structures. If you don’t want to look for it, you can safely make a box for New Year’s mail by replacing the material with cardboard covered with fabric or something else.

From paper

Don't rush to throw away big ones cardboard boxes from equipment or parcels. They can also be easily turned into a box for letters to Santa Claus.

Watch this simple video master class that clearly shows how to make such a New Year's craft.

Use various cut-outs, stickers, colored markers, bright stationery tape, beautiful patterned stamps and whatever else you want to decorate.

If you need unusual letter stencils for the word “mail”, you can take them from our selection. Select the ones you need, drag one piece at a time into the graphic editor, set the desired size and print. Additionally, the box can be decorated with a Santa Claus hat.

Letter templates

You will need to put a letter in the box. Give your child a little more joy - let it be very beautiful!

Here are some letter templates to Santa Claus for your child. Just print them out (not necessarily in color), fill them out and drop them into the toy box. You can add an envelope (make it yourself or take a ready-made one).

If you don’t like any sample letter to Santa Claus, make a template yourself. To do this, you can use stencils (look at the corresponding section on our website). In a graphics editor, arrange the pictures in the order you like. Take pictures with Grandfather Frost, a snowman, the Snow Maiden, an image of a Christmas tree - whatever. In the same way, you can write a letter from Santa Claus for your child.

Let the process of writing a letter to Santa Claus turn into an exciting game that your child will remember for a long time. Don't throw away this box - you will need it more than once. By the way, you can very well carefully trim the side or bottom edge, disassemble the structure and put a gift there. Carefully seal the hole, and on New Year's Day show your child that Santa Claus brought him something.

This year my daughter and I decided to do DIY mailbox to put letters there for Santa Claus.

To make a mailbox we needed:

  • carton
  • stationery knife
  • gouache,
  • tassels,
  • drawing paper
  • colored paper
  • glitter markers

We made a mailbox with our own hands like this:

1. At the top of the box we cut a hole for letters (we cut it at the top because there is a mailbox in our yard into which letters are thrown from above).

2. The box was painted with white gouache.

3. We painted our mailbox with blue paint to make it look just like the real thing.

4. Sprayed snow all over the box with a brush.

5. Drew snowflakes.

6. We took double-sided tape and attached the lid of our mailbox.

7. Letters for the words “Santa Claus Mail” were cut out of colored paper and pasted on the mailbox (after the paint had dried on it).

This was our first time using velvet self-adhesive paper. At first we were delighted - how convenient it was. But the joy was short-lived - our self-adhesive letters soon peeled off and had to be glued on with regular glue.

8. Olesya drew Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.

“Father Frost and Snow Maiden” - drawings by Olesya

9. On one side of the mailbox we glued the Snow Maiden.

10. On the opposite side, we pasted Santa Claus. Now it’s immediately clear that our box is not a simple one, but a New Year’s one.

11. On the mailbox we have posted information about accepting letters: “Acceptance of letters until December 31, 2013.”

12. We had multi-colored felt-tip pens with glitter and Olesyunka drew snow patterns all over the box with a silver felt-tip pen. And then my daughter drew with a felt-tip pen on the letters “Santa Claus's Mail” and they sparkled, as if they were covered with frost.

Our New Year's mailbox is ready and we send it to the competition “Winter children's crafts. We craft and play" where the sponsor is the publishing house Mann, Ivanov and Ferber.

We will receive in our mailbox from all guests who come to us.

We will start writing letters ourselves tomorrow, but for now we will discuss with our daughter: How to write a letter to Santa Claus correctly?

Together with Olesya we came up with these rules.

Firstly, you need to say hello.

Secondly, you need to tell about yourself: about your hobbies and achievements over the year.

B-4, be sure to thank Grandfather Frost for his care and gifts.

B-5, invite Grandfather Frost to visit.

We came up with these rules together with five-year-old Olesya. Now we will write letters to Santa Claus and throw them in our New Year's mailbox .
