MARISEAL DETAIL is a high quality, always very flexible, thixotropic and glass fibre-reinforced, cold-applied, one-component cold-curing polyurethane membrane used for durable waterproofing of roofing elements. The “MARISEAL DETAIL” membrane is based on pure, highly elastic hydrophobic polyurethane resin, which gives the product excellent qualities, such as mechanical, chemical, thermal stability, resistance to UV radiation and natural influences. It dries when interacting with moisture contained in the soil or air.

Application

Surface preparation
Careful surface preparation is essential for quality application and long-lasting performance. The surface must be clean, dry, free from damage and contamination that could adversely affect the adhesion of the membrane. The maximum moisture content in the substrate should not exceed 5%. The compressive strength of the surface must be at least 25 MPa, the strength of the cohesive bond must be at least 1.5 MPa. New concrete surfaces must be cured for at least 28 days. It is necessary to mechanically remove previous loose layers, dirt, fats, oils, organic matter and dust. It is necessary to level out existing surface unevenness. It is necessary to completely clean the surfaces and remove any dust remaining after sanding.

Before application, sand the surface with sandpaper or before application, sand the surface with paper and a sanding wheel and remove dust.
The residual moisture content of mineral substrates is no more than 5%. The age of new cement surfaces must be at least 28 days. Remove protruding remains of the old coating mechanically.
Always remove old paint.
Melt the surface to a liquid state using a burner and immediately pour a sufficient layer of dry quartz sand (0.4-0.8 mm) there.
Before applying the coating, brush the surface with a wire brush to roughen it.

Padding
Surface preparation and priming are the same as for standard liquid mastics

Waterproof membrane
Stir MARISEAL DETAIL slowly and thoroughly with a wooden tool before use. Do not use a mechanical hammer drill. Apply MARISEAL DETAIL to the prepared and/or primed surface with a roller or brush until the entire surface is covered. If necessary, apply a second coat. To get more detailed instructions contact our design and engineering department. RECOMMENDATION: Strengthen critical elements with MARISEAL textiles. To do this, apply a correctly cut piece of MARISEAL text onto the still damp MARISEAL DETAIL membrane, press it until it gets wet and soak it again sufficient quantity"MARISEAL DETAIL". For more detailed instructions on how to apply MARISEAL geotextiles, please contact our design department. WARNING: Do not apply MARISEAL DETAIL at temperatures environment below +50C during application and 4 hours later, on surfaces with temperatures below +50C, on frozen surfaces, during rain or fog, on a damp “MARISEAL DETAIL” surface and on surfaces with high humidity. Do not apply MARISEAL DETAIL more than 1mm thick in one pass. Low temperatures slow down drying, while high temperatures speed it up. WARNING: MARISEAL DETAIL membrane becomes slippery when wet. Package
The MARISEAL DETAIL membrane is supplied in 6 kg metal buckets. Buckets should be stored in a cool, dry place for no more than 24 months. It is necessary to protect the product from dampness and direct sun rays. Storage temperature: 5 - 30C. The product must remain in its original, unopened packaging containing the manufacturer's name, material designation, lot number and storage precautions labeling.

A type of material in this category is a superdiffusion waterproofing film, designed for intensive steam removal and used for high humidity rooms - saunas, kitchens, etc.

Waterproofing of this type differs in the structure of the material:

Flat membranes are optimal for preventing contact of the foundation with soil moisture if the base of the building is located above the groundwater level.
Profiled membranes have hollow projections on the surface that resemble spikes. This material is suitable for waterproofing if groundwater periodically rises so that it reaches the foundation.
