Where to penetrate the "mouse" with different models of tanks. Maus

I am pleased to announce the beginning of a series of articles dedicated entirely to Mouse tank (Maus Tank). In general, in the future I plan to write a number of articles on each of the most significant, significant and decisive tanks in the game, and Mouse will be a pioneer in this, I give him the green light and the key to start. Articles for each tank will include: historical information, penetration zones in the game, photographs and screenshots, comparison with similar tanks.

A little history

Maus Tank, aka Mouse Tank or, as the players called him - Mouse was designed in the Third Reich in the period from 42 to 45 (thanks to Wikipedia for the info). Alternative names for the tank - Panzerkampfwagen "Maus", as well as Porsche 205. The maximum weight of the tank was almost 192 tons!

It is worth noting that only two were released Mouse tank and both were blown up by the crews as Soviet troops approached the Reich Chancellery, which they were guarding. Never getting to the front line due to his size and not having time to fire a single shot, Mouse tank perhaps had one of the most unfortunate fates during the war.

Later we managed to restore a copy Mice, which is in singular stored in the armored tank museum in Kubinka.

Comparison of Maus, IS-7 and T30

This table compares the Tier 10 heavy tanks of the three nations. Green indicates that the tank is larger, taller, more powerful and stronger than others, red - what is worse, blue - same values, white is what is in the middle.

Let's count the green and red values:

  • Mouse: green - 5, red - 4.
  • IS-7: green - 2, red - 1.
  • T30: green - 4, red 5.

Based on this comparison, I boldly assume and compile a hit parade of the top heavyweights in the World of Tanks:

  • 1st place - Mouse, let's give him the gold!
  • 2nd place - IS-7, leaves with silver.
  • 3rd place - T30, took the bronze.

What we saw in the table and what can be said about Mause? It is certainly a heavy and well-armored tank, but it is very slow and the gun is slightly inferior to its competitors in both rate of fire and penetration. But again, its slowness is compensated by its excellent armor.

Mouse penetration zones

In the provided screenshots Mouse tank the main penetration zones are shown. It seems that everything is clear, you need to hit the most vulnerable places. But where are they? First of all, never think of shooting a mouse in the forehead. In this case, the shells ricochet from him, as if the fire were fired from a crossbow. But if you aim a little lower, in the area under the large armor plates in the middle, as shown in the screenshot, you may be successful.

The second obvious area for Mouse to penetrate is his ass. Obviously, since the armor in this place is weaker than in other zones, however, even the ass Mouse armored better than the forehead IP a and T30. You don't need to shoot all over the ass, but exactly in the place that you see in the picture.

Meet me - this is a mouse's asshole, a very vulnerable place. I even penetrated this mouse's anus with the T-34-85. Slowly, of course, but surely and surely, with each hit he took away a ridiculous amount of HP. The catch is that on the move you can only get here by accident, so it’s better to immobilize Mouse somehow and always act in conjunction with the comrades. You can't handle it alone.

It is considered the most armored and most protected combat unit. There are only a few ways to break through it. To do this, you need to choose the right position and know its weak points.

General information about technology

The German heavy tank Mouse is a unique combat unit. A few models were produced, and for demonstration purposes only. The reason for this was its weight of 188 tons, which would be an absolute record even in our time. It would seem that with such an indicator in the equipment of the equipment there are no places where it would be possible to penetrate the Mouse without difficulty, but they exist. A huge disadvantage of the tank was its low mobility. Even under ideal terrain conditions, the car could only reach 21 km/h. Transporting it to the battlefield would take an incredible amount of time, and therefore the decision was made not to continue production of the combat unit.

Main indicators of the tank

As mentioned above, the technology could not boast of speed at all. The designers' main emphasis was on armor and firepower.

To understand where to punch the Mouse, you must first study its construction in detail. The roof and bottom have powerful 50 mm armor plates. It was already difficult to get into this place, but now even Soviet land mines will not find it easy to make a hole there. The upper armor plate has a thickness of 200 mm. Part of the armor above the tracks is 180 mm. The lower part of the case is even better protected. The lower screens with a thickness of 100 mm are installed here, then the hull is 80 mm, as well as the chassis and tracks. It's definitely not recommended to shoot there. The Mouse turret has 220 mm of cast armor in the middle and on both sides of the guns. All characteristics correspond to real parameters, hence the huge weight of the tank. As for combat power, it has a 128 mm cannon with a reload time of just over 19 seconds.

The main methods of breaking through the "Mouse"

There are several most likely places where it will be convenient for most heavy tanks to penetrate the Mouse. First, let's look at the tower. If you fire an accurate shot into the cannon area, the chance of penetration will be about 75%. This is despite the fact that the gun will be at an acute angle to you, otherwise a ricochet will occur. The roof is equipped with only 50 mm armor, which means it will be an excellent target from a height. Practice shows that there are few real situations when it is possible to penetrate this military equipment into a tower, but it is worth remembering the likelihood of this. Some players shoot at the front of the car and do not know where to hit the Mouse in the forehead. There is a chance of critical damage if you hit the area where the front and side parts meet. The thickness of the armor there is lower, but getting into it even with maximum aim is quite difficult. If you use high-explosive large-caliber shells, then there will be no problems with penetration. The main thing is not to aim at the lower screens, where the defense cannot even be calculated. The third most likely place to penetrate the Mouse is the tracks. A simple hit will not give a result, because an experienced player immediately takes a position so that it is convenient for him to shoot. You need to hit the leaf above it, then the damage to the enemy will be significant.

Other options

In fact, in order to clearly understand where to punch the Mouse, it is worth taking into account its position. It is especially important whether it is above or below the level. Then you should only shoot at the roof or bottom, or even better, at the commander’s and driver’s hatches. For example, you don't know where to hit the Mouse on the E100 when you play this level 10 German tank. Then simply assess the situation and opportunities, wait for the most advantageous position and shoot in turn at the weak points that are mentioned above.

A good way out sometimes is to lean against his side and shoot above the harp. While the Mouse is turning, the E100 will be able to fire 3-4 shots. There will be quite a lot of damage. The scheme of action is the same with other heavy tanks. It is better for light and even medium combat units not to even engage in battle against such an enemy. In the end, he will simply be able to choose a position and destroy you.

Maus, how terrible this enemy is: the weak and strong points of the hull. This monster is so strong and covered with armor that not everyone will guess where to shoot, and many even get lost when faced with it. Now we will look at all the weaknesses of the mouse, no matter how trivial it may sound, and what actions to take when encountering them.

A tank with its weaknesses and strengths

Weaknesses of the tank:

  • 20 km/h, very low speed;
  • Low maneuverability and turret rotation speed;
  • Huge chassis, which makes it impossible to use the UGN;
  • Huge dimensions of the machine;
  • No camouflage.

Strengths of the tank:

  • Almost the most protected tank;
  • A gun with precise aiming;
  • A large number of hit points;
  • Huge weight - 188 tons;
  • Additional equipment "modules" with a large number hitpoints;
  • It is almost impossible to set the engine on fire;
  • Well-closed sides with screens.

Where to shoot to penetrate a tank

Forehead

The Maus is undoubtedly one of the best armored tanks at the front. Even if you compare it with the E-100 or IS-7, they will be much easier to penetrate; the mouse can only be compared with some tank destroyer, T95 or T110E3. Under no circumstances is it recommended to drive towards this monster head-on; it is better to drive around it from behind if possible. But if you have nowhere to go and have to take the battle head-on, then in this situation it is better to remain calm and take precise and calm actions.

The Mouse has only a couple of weak points in front; you should not shoot at the observation devices, since the damage will be insignificant, and it is more difficult to hit them; all that remains is the lower frontal shield or “cheeks”, which are located on the tower.

For vehicles that, apart from NZ, do not have normal weapons, it is better to open their reserves and shoot with gold, otherwise you will have to tuck your tail between your legs and try to quickly hide somewhere, otherwise you have no chance. It is best to shoot at the cheeks, as the angle of the armor is suitable and their shape is semicircular.

Let's consider shooting at the lower frontal shield. The thickness of the armor is 200 millimeters, since it is located at an angle of 35 degrees, the thickness increases somewhere up to 250 millimeters. And if you take into account that the shooting is not carried out at a right angle, and the barrel of your tank is much higher, thus the angle increases even more. In this case, the armor will be about 400 millimeters. With such a thickness, not every machine can boast of this penetration.

If we consider the cheeks, then the situation is different: the thickness of the armor is 240 millimeters, but if you take into account that you choose the angle yourself, then this thickness will practically not change and you can cause damage little by little.

Tanks with powerful weapons already have good penetration, but with gold, the armor becomes completely penetrable.

Going one-on-one with the Mouse is very dangerous and everything will depend on how high your tower is and whether there are any weak spots on it. If, for example, you drive an IS-7, then it will be problematic for the Maus to penetrate the IS protected turret, but at this time you can safely shoot it in the cheeks. Although in the same situation the T110E5 will be much more vulnerable, since its “bump” will be under fire, which the Mouse will overcome without any difficulties.

The most important thing is not to forget about the large weight of this monster; when driving around it, try not to get caught, otherwise it can take from 100 to 320 damage from you with just a small ram.

Boards

It won’t be difficult to break through the sides of the “Mouse”; even level 7-8 tanks can do it. Here you can already choose which module or crew member will come under attack. The ammunition rack is peacefully located in the upper part of the chassis and rear part of the turret.

It will be very difficult to get to it, unless you fire from several barrels or receive several hits from a drum. The main thing here is that the ammunition does not have time to recover.

It is also not easy to get to the engine, located in the middle of the chassis. The chance of a fire is very small. But even with such protection, there are crew members whose concussion is much easier than disabling a module. Usually there is a gunner to the left of the barrel, and a commander to the right, the loaders sit at the rear of the turret.

The effectiveness of firing shaped charges at the side armor of the Maus is equal to zero, since the jet of this projectile, penetrating the armor, is sprayed before reaching the main armor.

The most optimal place for penetration, this is the top of the chassis, where the armor is about 200 millimeters at a right angle. In order to get to the crew, you need to shoot at the turret at an angle of about 30 degrees, the armor there is a little more than 200 millimeters.

Angled or diamond stand

Experienced players will not stand directly towards you, if the Mouse is standing at an angle towards you, then you don’t have to try, in this position it will be impossible to break through him, not counting the art, so you have to wait until he points his sight at you to work on your ears. There is still a chance to break through the skating rink, but this requires extreme accuracy. It’s good if he doesn’t see you in this case.

Unfortunately, there are no other options to break through this monster, only if you knock down the harp and give the opportunity to send a parcel from the artillery.

Even if some skilled tank driver jumped out to Mouse from behind, it’s too early to rejoice, it won’t be so easy to break through the stern, we’re not talking about the turret at all.

All that remains is to level your car, bring it as close as possible to the right angle of the shot, or again shoot at the roller with maximum accuracy.

In any case, if you hit Mouse in the rear, then you have a better chance of punching him than in the forehead.

Maus. Reservation schemes or how to break through Mausa.

Maus is a level 10 heavy tank, one of the most armored tanks in the game. Today we’ll talk about how to break through it.
Firstly, if you are on a tank less than level 8, and Maus is coming at you - Y.... leave.
Your modest weapon will not be able to help in destroying it, unless it turns its back to you (160mm armor) and you aim for an interesting round pimp on the turret (100mm armor) or if you are lucky with the FBR and you pierce the sides of the hull with 185mm armor.

Mouse's NBL is 200mm, it can be taken by some tanks from lvl 8 and above, but an important fact is that it is at a slight angle, and penetration is not always possible.
There is no point in shooting at the turret if you do not have a 120mm gun; if you do have one, you can try your luck, because the turret is also at a slight angle, and it is better to shoot just below or slightly above the center line of the gun on the turret, at the so-called cheeks.

Look at all the penetration diagrams, as well as the layout of the modules and crew. We hope this information helps you when meeting Mouse.
